Lumineers Cosmetic Treatment
Along with porcelain veneers, Dr. Eidelson also offers Lumineers as part of the suite of smile makeover options at our office. With Lumineers in Philadelphia from our practice, you can restore your smile while preserving more of your natural tooth structure. Unlike “traditional” veneers, they are extremely thin and require minimal enamel removal during the preparation process. If you’d like a reversible and minimally invasive way to transform your smile, Lumineers may be right for you! Contact us now to schedule your first consultation.
The Benefits Of Choosing Lumineers
Lumineers are one of the most popular veneer options in Philadelphia. What makes them special? They use a special ceramic material that’s extremely strong and lifelike, yet incredibly thin. While “traditional” veneers are up to 0.5mm in thickness, Lumineers are usually only about 0.2mm thick – as thin as a contact lens!
Because they’re so thin, Lumineers can usually be placed without removing as much of your natural enamel, which is why they’re often called “no-prep” or “minimal-prep” veneers. Here’s a quick look at some more benefits:
- Minimally Invasive: Requires much less enamel removal than veneers
- Looks Natural: Your new smile will look and feel completely lifelike
- Ultra-Thin: At just 0.2mm thick, Lumineers fit perfectly over your teeth
- Enhanced Comfort: Minimal prep and enamel removal add up to a more comfortable process
- Strong & Durable: Lumineers can last just as long as thicker traditional veneers
- Stain Resistant: Advanced ceramic material stays bright and can’t be stained
- Faster Treatment: Some patients can get a new smile in just a single visit
How Lumineers work
What Is the Procedure Like?
Getting your new smile from Dr. Eidelson at our Center City Philadelphia cosmetic dentist takes only a few quick visits. Wondering what to expect? Here’s a quick overview.
Not everyone is a good candidate for Lumineers, so make sure to ask Dr. Eidelson about traditional porcelain veneers, too!
01.
Cosmetic Consultation
At your first visit, Dr. Eidelson will perform a comprehensive oral exam. Then, he’ll discuss your smile goals with you and determine if you’re a good candidate for treatment.
02.
Custom Design and Preparation
Even if you’re approved for Lumineers, Dr. Eidelson may still need to remove a very small amount of enamel from some of your teeth. This is a fast, totally pain-free process. Then, he’ll take a 3D scan of your mouth and begin designing your ultra-thin veneers.
03.
Final Application
Once your custom veneers arrive at Premier Dentist Philadelphia, you’ll come back for your final appointment with Dr. Eidelson. He’ll check your Lumineers to make sure they fit properly, then bond them in place permanently to restore your smile.
Alternative treatments
Lumineers vs. Dental Veeners in Philadelphia
Since Lumineers are thinner than traditional veneers, they require minimal tooth prep. Some patients prefer this, since it gives them the option of reversing their treatment later in life. However, they do have some drawbacks compared to thicker traditional veneers.
Since they’re so thin, they’re not as good at covering up severe tooth stains and discoloration. Also, they’re slightly less durable and may be more prone to damage if you do things like grind your teeth, chew non-food objects (pens, pencils, fingernails), or often use your teeth to do things like open packages or rip tape.
Happy Patients
“Dr Eidelson is the absolute best. One of my Veneers broke from my overbite and last minute on a Friday and holiday weekend, stopped his plans and met me at the office in 1 hour. He made sure I was comfortable, and fixed my tooth with no problem at all. He is very caring and goes above and beyond for me every visit. He worries almost as if they are his own teeth and I could not ask for a better dentist!!!”
