Your first visit should feel easy and straightforward. Our Premier Dentist Philadelphia team at the Medical Arts Building keeps things simple so you know what’s happening and why. Dr. Eidelson has been doing this for over 30 years and focuses on preventing problems before they start.
What to bring
- Photo ID and insurance card if you’ve got one.
- List of medications and allergies.
- Recent x-rays or records if you have them handy.
- Your mouthguard, retainers, or dentures so we can check fit.
- Quick list of questions or things you want fixed. Whiter teeth, crooked tooth, gum bleeding, whatever’s on your mind.
How the visit goes
Check-in is quick. We confirm your info, help with forms, talk about what you want from your smile.
Then we chat about your health history. Past dental work, things that hurt, medical stuff we should know. Helps us plan care that’s safe for you specifically.
X-rays and photos if needed. We only take what we actually need to see between teeth, under old fillings, around roots.
Exam comes next. We measure gums, screen for oral cancer, check every tooth for decay, cracks, wear.
Bite and jaw check. How your teeth fit together, signs you’re clenching or grinding.
Cleaning if your gums are healthy. Hygienist scrapes off plaque and tartar, polishes, flosses. If we spot gum disease, we’ll explain why a deeper cleaning makes more sense.
Results and what to do next. Dr. Eidelson walks through your images, shows you problem spots, explains options in normal language. You’ll know what’s urgent and what can wait.
Home care plan tailored to your mouth. Right floss, those little brushes, water flosser, whatever fits your situation. Small tweaks at home make a huge difference.
Check-out and scheduling. We go over costs, timing, next steps. Book your follow-up before you leave so it’s done.
How long does it take?
Usually 60 to 90 minutes. More if you’ve got a lot going on or haven’t been to a dentist in years. We work around your schedule and explain as we go.
Will I get cleaned the first day?
Most likely yeah. Healthy gums get cleaned same day. Deeper pockets or heavy buildup might need a separate deep cleaning appointment to do it right.
Comfort stuff
Your comfort matters here. Gentle techniques, numbing gel when needed, breaks if you want them. We follow strict sterilization rules. Feeling nervous? Tell us. We’ll slow down and keep everything clear and simple.
Money talk
We help you figure out insurance benefits and give written estimates before treatment. You’ll know what you’ll pay out of pocket before anything starts. No surprise bills, just honest numbers.
